Bytes28
Mask2

Encoded in this browser (byte mode, the mask chosen by the standard's penalty rules), so a Wi-Fi password never goes to a QR service. Higher error correction survives more damage, or a logo pasted over the middle, at the cost of a denser code. Keep dark on light with strong contrast and the four-module quiet margin; inverted or low-contrast codes fail on many phone cameras.

Runs in this browser. Nothing you paste is sent to a server.

Wi-Fi passwords stay local

Online QR generators receive whatever you encode, including a Wi-Fi password or a private link. This one never sends the payload anywhere. The output is a crisp SVG for print and PNGs at screen and print resolution. QR codes are standardised as ISO/IEC 18004.

Making codes that scan

Keep dark modules on a light background with strong contrast, leave the four-module quiet zone around the code, and print it large enough: about 2 cm across for a short URL read at arm's length. Higher error correction (Q or H) survives scratches, or a small logo over the centre, at the cost of a denser code.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a QR code for Wi-Fi?
Choose Wi-Fi, enter the network name, security type and password. iOS and Android cameras offer to join the network when they scan it.
Do QR codes expire?
A static QR code like these never expires; it contains the data itself. Codes from services that expire contain a redirect URL on the service's domain.
Is what I paste sent anywhere?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type or paste is sent to our server or stored.
